Random Assignment Game!
The following game will help you explore the idea of random assignment. Below you will see a sample of students (rectangles) on which we have recorded their number of siblings, height size, credits taken this semester, and if they have a job. Your job is to separate these students into two groups for an experiment. The goal is to make sure we have a 'balance' of each variable between the groups.
Each variable and a summarizing statistic is shown in the table below.
Variable | Statistic |
---|---|
Siblings | p̂ = 3 |
Height | x̄ = 30 |
Credits | x̄ = 12 |
Job | p̂ = Yes |
Directions!
To see a variable for the students make sure it is checked and click the blue button!
You can click the purple button at any time to reset the students back to the middle.
If you don't know where to start, try just separating the students based on their number of siblings!
